This Diploma course provides students with the essential knowledge and technical skills required to perform non-invasive procedures like electrocardiograms, exercise tolerance tests, ambulatory monitoring and assist in invasive procedures like angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker implantation, electrophysiological studies, etc. The course has been designed to train students to take care of patients with cardiopulmonary diseases with the help of treatment and pre/post-surgery care. These technologists assist the physicians in the diagnosis and the treatment of cardiac (heart) and peripheral vascular conditions (blood vessels). The Cardiac Care Technologists are also responsible for preparing the patients for open-heart surgeries and pacemaker implantation surgeries.
